Reform UK has announced it would abolish the right of migrants to qualify for permanent settlement in the UK after five years, if the party wins the next election.

Under the plans, migrants would need to reapply for new visas with tougher rules. Reform has also said it plans to bar anyone other than British citizens from accessing welfare. The party claims its plans would save £234bn over several decades.

Verdict: What the Sharing  Party thinks about Reform's Plans: We think Reform UK's policy of scrapping indefinite leave to remain is racist and immoral. The policy, which could effectively lead to hundreds of thousands of people who are here legally being deported from the UK, is illegal and will no doubt lead to a host of legal challenges.
